Nathan has been having trouble with a couple of boys in his class. Not really trouble mind you, but they are boys that he liked to play with, but the two of them have now become "best friends" and they have decided to exclude Nathan. It has taken Nathan a few weeks to fully understand this. He has been running around behind them on the playground while they run away from him and call him a baby and tell him to go away.
(I know it breaks my heart too)
Meredith and I have been trying to encourage him to just go and find some other kids to play with. It has been a long process, but we think he is finally catching on. On Tuesday morning I was taking him to school and told him to try to play with some other kids today.
"But Daddy, I like these other boys (he used their names."
"I know," I said, "but they aren't being very nice, so you should probably just stay away from them and find some other friends."
Nathan thought for a moment and said, "My Bible verse says, 'depart from evil and do good'."
He went on to explain to me that depart means to get away from and since those other boys were being bad he was just going to get away from them and do good.
Seriously one of the proudest moments of my life, and I had nothing to do with it. Thanks to all of Nathan's teachers at church; they are getting through!

I can't believe that someone would not want to play with that sweet boy.Hurts my heart.
But he is a very smart young man.He amazed me with the bible knowledge he has.He told me stories in the bible that he learned at school. My favorite was Peter fell in the water because he took his eyes off Jesus
