Seems like there is always some laughable wildness going on at the Yancey house. Here's a few things from this week:
The boys were given a surprise from sweet Patti - their first slip n slide.
I took Noah out to watch for a few minutes intending to take him in soon for bed. He wanted down in that water. He loved it and his clothes and diaper were soaked in minutes so Shane just stripped him down and let him have at it. He cried and cried when I did take him in. First time I've ever seen him be so upset about something being taken away.
Monday night Nathan was invited to "Carnival Night at Parkview" There were corn dogs and animal crackers and lots of games and prizes.
One night Bob and Larry made an appearance at our house. Our neighbor gives us fresh vegetables from the garden and in this batch was the biggest cucumber we'd ever seen. So we borrowed a few parts from Mr. Potato head and made it into a Larry.
Shane is so ready for Noah to be wearing shoes. None of the sandals we have will stay on his feet, so a determined Shane put him in socks and tennis shoes. Didn't last long. Noah was pitiful crawling around dragging them behind him.
Nathan loves Mario but he and Mommy aren't so great at playing Mario Kart so we rented Mario Party 8 for the Wii and had lots of fun playing it for days.
Last Saturday we tried out one of Shane's Father's Day gifts - homemade corn dog mix. They were yummy, but it was a lot of work. Guess it will be a special occasion kind of thing!
